The Story

The Supreme Sock Council seized May as an opportunity to study the concept of flower-giving. In assessing the best means of obtaining flowers, the Council has chosen gardening, since it is in fact an elegant manifestation of the capability of nurturing live organisms, which by the way is highly valued by many ladies. Related to this, a long-term experiment by scientists in the Swedish town of Uppsala has found that 150 minutes of gardening every week extend male longevity by 2 years. The implication would follow that gardening is a potentially favorable avocation not only for each Club member but also for the Club itself, allowing its affiliates to be clad in the Club’s socks for longer periods of time. In honor of these findings, the Supreme Sock Council decided to equip the May sock specimen with several schematic flowers.
